Barbaras tray

a while ago bdjeepers(Barbara) shared a file with us on http://s15.zetaboards.com/Silhouette_Plus/index/    and it was a darling little tray to cut and make up....

I cut 2 of the trays and glued them together because i wanted to be able to carry it about from upstairs to down stairs. I used contrasting colours and decorated the sides up with some flourishes i had cut ages ago but didnt need in the end...i also used my sketch pen option on my silhouette to put some words inside the tray

All in all a very handy tray for my crafting...the file can be found at the  silhouette plus forum

With Love card

One of my  favorite designers Tina Fitch http://forevermemoriesforyou.blogspot.co.uk/  recently uploaded a free file and i was lucky enough to grab it while it was there as a freebie..it is now for sale in her online shop and if you have time please look at her blog well worth a visit, the first time i saw some of her designs my eyes popped!!

Anyway having managed to snag this file i couldnt wait to cut it out and play....

The file is so detailed that you dont really need to add anything to it except maybe some colour...I used faded jeans distress ink on the wording and on the butterflies and used a few gems for the bling but all in all once it was cut out there wasnt much to do other than put it together.....i chose a light blue/green card to cut because the look of the card sort of evoked the victorian age and i felt this colour emphasised this feel to the card. I didnt then want to introduce another colour to detract from the card and so decided to make it monochromatic and use a blue ink on it and kept the butterflies in the same tone.

Carlys birdcage and cake box

After making the birdcage for my daughter i had a phone call from her friend who also wanted one but in purple...and after she continuously said please over 30 times i agreed to make her one...here it is...

i still like it and it is sooo easy to put together ..the cutting file is from the silhouette store..this one took me about 2 hours to do but its well worth it ....

I also want to make what is called a diaper cake for my grandaughter that is due in september, for that i need 6 cake boxes so i found a file that i liked but wanted to test cut it to see how easy it would be to put together so here is my tester with a little decoration added just because...

The file was very pretty and i managed to do the box quite easily so this will be the one i use so ill have to start cutting them soon lol

Drinking cup

I bought a few cups for when my grandson comes to visit and decided today to jazz them up a bit for him...I did think of putting cartoon caracters or logos on them but decided to put some words instead..and was inspired by Alice in Wonderland, as it is meant for a 7 year old i didnt want something to old...so i came up with this simple phrase...

The font i used was billo and i think its cute!! Hubby asked if i had done him one so i think its a hit!! The plastic cup came from poundland and cost £1

Bins done glitz

I was in a definate crafting mood today...and it being tuesday it is free file at the silhouette store...so i promptly got my free file and looked at the clearance files and suddenly got inspiration for these 2 bins...

This is one bin with wording on both sides...i dont think im being very subtle but its for my sons room need i say more? The bin itself came from home bargains and cost 99p....
The 2nd one is for the kitchen to put the peelings in for the compost bin...

I just thought it funny!! the vinyl is very easy to do and just adds that little bit of interest to the bins which makes the kids want to put things in them

2 wedding cards

My daughters friend Sarah Jayne is getting married next Sunday...so NJ asked me to make a card for her to  give to the couple for their wedding...so I looked at the files that i had and came up with this one...

I cut some card for the background and embossed my heart folder on the big shot onto it...to make the hearts pop out a little i then used my antique rose distress ink and very lightly distressed it....I then stuck this to my card blank with a glue roller....
I then found this lovely silver ribbon amongst my stash of ribbons and cut a lenght to fit the card...I cut a fancy label from the silhouette store and added text. I used the text adore....I used my silhouette and a silver gel pen to sketch the text...i then sent the label to print...and silly me forgot to remove the text before i sent to cut so the silhouette also cut my text, but as it was so slim a text it only looked like some of it was cut...underterred and determined not to waste my paper instead of starting that file again i cut some gold paper and put that behind the text...

i think it now looks like that was how it was meant to be...The label came in 4 layers the top one being very thin lines but was easy to put together. I then cut some flowers from the silhouette store designed by Lori Whitlock. I cut them in the same white card and again used the antique rose distress ink to lightly distress them....

The brads were from hobby craft and i bought them about 2 years ago!! I just knew id need them one day...

Having finished this card my darling daughters friend Carly really liked it and wanted a card made for her to give to the couple..so i made this one for carly

I took a basic pink card blank and added a pink glittered ribbon..I cut a layered lattice heart on my silhouette and used my old photo distressed ink on it because i didnt want a bright white heart as it wouldnt have worked with the white flowers...the flowers weere again the Lori Whitlock ones from the silhouette store only this time i resized them and made them slightly bigger..once again i used antique rose distress ink lightly on them...I found 4 brads in my stash that were white with pink dots on them and used them on the flowers...

I then got out my bigshot and cut and embossed 2 butterflies. The dies were from the Marianne range. I layered the butterflies and stuck the top one on with foam pads to give it dimension. I had some faux string pearls and placed that under the flowers. I used the sketch feature of the silhouette and a silver gel pen to write the words wedding day wishes, drew an oval around it added a serated edge and cut with the silhouette and glues that onto the heart.

bird cage

I saw a post in the silhouette forum for a birdcage and i liked it so i did one for my daughter who loves animals and wants a pet, but as she and her partner live in a 1 bedroomed flat it is not practical...so i made her one instead!!

I bought the file from the silhouette store and the designer had full instructions on how to..on her blog. It looks very complicated but once you start it is very easy to do...i jazzed up the bird a little and gave him swarovski chrystal eyes and a glittered body. It looks very nice when done.

2 more cards

I have been busy writing and posting for the May challenge and had so much fun making the inspiration cards that i played and made 2 more

The 1st one was cut with my silhouette and was the filigree card from the silhouette store...its one of my favourite cards to do for a special occasion like a wedding...I did the wording using my silver gel pen (sakura) with the pen attachment from silhouette...and then i glittered it everywhere!!!

The 2nd card i cut a purse shape with my silhouette and layered a darker pink paper with hearts printed on it and a coordinating stripe paper...to bling it up i stuck heart shaped gem stones on all the hearts!!

Both cards are simple easy ones to achieve and fun to make
